
Administrative Services
The Office of Management provides many of the administrative services that keep the Department of Energy operational. These services comprise many of the functions that keep the Department's facilities operating, as well as many of the managerial support functions that are shared by many of the Program Offices. These functions are primarily provided by the Office of Administration, MA-40.
Some of these functions are: Building Services
- Keys and locks for all offices in the Forrestal and Germantown buildings
- Heating and air-conditioning maintenance
- Trash pickup and office cleaning
- Electrical maintenance
- Installation of items such as artwork, visual boards, clocks, etc.
- Minor office construction
- Recycling
- Grounds and elevators maintenance
- Space management:
- Assignment of space in the Forrestal Building, Main Germantown Building and all leased buildings
- Adherence to ADA and Life Safety Requirements
- DOE cafeterias
- Carpeting installation and maintenance
- Cyclical painting (no charge to customer)
- Office moving services
- Oversight of minor and major construction projects
- Plumbing maintenance
- Carpentry maintenance

- Conferencing facilities and special events support

- Occupant Emergency Plans
- Warder, Monitor, First Aid, CPR, AED and Escape Mask provision and training
- Emergency Preparedness Pamphlets, specific for each building
